Directions: Show your child how to do this exercise. Have your child lay on the floor on her back. Ask her to reach for her knees while lifting up her legs straight. Slowly help her curl up her upper body.

Strong core (abdominal) muscles help your child avoid lower back pain when performing other tasks like bending down repeatedly to pick up a ball and throw it as far as she can.
