Directions: Point to the hair on the girl below and say, "brown hair". With your child look in a mirror and ask her to point to her hair. Tell your child the color of her hair. Then give your child a crayon color closest to her hair color. Have her color the hair of the child below with the crayon.

Being able to identify physical differences in herself, such as her hair color, is how your toddler begins to develop self-awareness and identity as an individual separate from you.
